I need to eat more - By Guest Blogger "Jr"

Well it looks like a didn't eat enough groceries.  My local Bigg's grocery store is closing and that's disappointing.  There are only 2 grocery choices within 10 miles of my home -- Bigg's and Kroger.  The customer service at Bigg's is far superior to that of the Harrison Kroger.  The Bigg's employees smile, are friendly, and go out of their way to help you.  I'm only too happy to give them 95% of all our family purchases.  The Kroger employees seemingly avoid you, won't even look at you, and when they do address you it's with a low mumble that I struggle to understand.

Customer service is too often overlooked these days as a deciding factor for winning and keeping loyal customers.  Not only is it important to me -- it's my primary driver for many of my decisions.  My family even plays a guessing game when I run into a store or restaurant for a quick purchase -- "Will dad be happy with the service today?"

My oldest daughter has started to notice that when I'm a customer I try to give good service to the employees.  I'm overly friendly, I use their name, etc.  Our service industry has declined too far.  I may not be able to change the entire industry but by gosh, I'm going to try and change one person at a time.  I want superior service and I'm giving my business to those who can provide it.
